On June 17, 2021, Massa Marittima hosted the 29th edition of the Mille Miglia.
Among the cars with extraordinary historical value and an intense sporting past, the following paraded in the beautiful setting of Piazza Garibaldi: two Bugatti Type 35s and five Bugatti Type 37s; three official racing Maseratis from the Trident brand; eleven Mercedes-Benz 300 SLs, the famous “Gullwing” models, including a prototype version that was used by the Stuttgart official team in 1952 for training along the race track; and last but not least, seven O.M. 665 “Superba,” victorious in the first edition of 1927, a nickname earned due to their numerous wins.
